Chris qualified from Newcastle University in 2013 and gained his Member of the Royal College of Surgeons Diploma in 2015. He has worked all round the UK and in Australia in hospitals, NHS & private practice and has been at The Dentist in Balham since January 2021.

He completed a year-long certificate in Advanced Cosmetic & Restorative Dentistry in 2020 and is currently studying for his MSc in Orthodontics. He has a keen interest in all forms of orthodontics as well as aesthetic & cosmetic dentistry and has been providing Invisalign since 2018.

Outside of dentistry he enjoys travel, cinema and trying out London’s extensive collection of restaurants!

If he wasn’t a dentist he would be: a ski instructor.

Carlos gained a Bachelor of Dental Surgery in 2005 and has been practicing general dentistry in London since 2006.

He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and has a keen interest in conservatively restoring teeth in the most natural looking way. He regularly attends a wide variety of courses, which allow him to use all manner of techniques available in modern dentistry. Most recently he has been focusing his attention on implants. He has been placing implants since 2009 and he gained a Diploma in Implant Dentistry from the Royal college of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2018.

Carlos has many years of experience in general practice and particularly enjoys working with anxious patients. He enjoys finding a solution that is right for the patient and their needs.

Outside of work Carlos enjoys travelling and is a keen sportsman playing squash and running.

Emily Illingworth

Emily knew she wanted to be a dentist at the age of 12, having had a holiday job at a dental practice to earn pocket money.

Emily graduated from Liverpool University in 2017. She then moved to London, and was then offered a training job at The Royal London Hospital within the OMFS specialty, gaining experience in A+E and oral surgery. Emily passed exams with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow and was awarded membership. Emily has then worked in general practice, nurturing a special interest in Periodontology through post graduate studies with University College London. Outside of clinical work Emily facilitates mentorship and training of newly qualified dentists.

If Emily wasn’t a dentist, she would be a children’s TV presenter!

Our general and restorative dentistry superstar! Lizzie will make sure you are getting the care you deserve at a fantastic standard. Having completed post graduate training specifically in Restorative Dentistry (crowns, bridges, veneers, large fillings, tooth wear), Lizzie can handle complex dental issues as well as being part of our General Dentistry team.

Diona graduated in 2012 from Manipal College of Dental Sciences, India and obtained a post graduate diploma in Periodontics by Dr Reena Wadia in 2022.

Diona is able to put her patients at ease, ensures a positive experience and is known for being gentle.
