You will need to wear a series of clear plastic “aligners” on your teeth for 20-22 hours per day. They must be removed for eating, brushing, and drinking (although plain cold water is OK).

This depends a lot on what the goals of treatment are, the current alignment of your teeth, and your bite. The majority of people’s treatment takes 6-12 months.

There is usually very little discomfort with clear aligners, and significantly less than normal braces.

If you have active gum disease, unstable teeth, or have lost significant bone around your teeth, you may not be suitable for treatment. Similarly, if your oral hygiene is not good enough, you will need to improve this first.

Yes. All orthodontic treatment concludes with retainers. Removable ones are included and must be worn nightly life-long. Bonded wire retainers can also be provided. Speak with your dentist to discuss these options.
