About

About Sports Mouth Guards.

About Sports Guards A custom-made sports guard will always fit better and offer more protection than a shop-bought option.

Sports injuries are common, and dental sports injuries can be severe. There is also the risk of concussion & surrounding jaw injury. We recommend having a custom-made sports guard where possible if you are in need of one.

FAQ's

Helpful answers to your questions.

Sports Guards are generally recommended if you play contact-sports. You can of course wear one for other sports if you are concerned about impacts to the face or head.

If you are an adult and have finished growing, you may only need a new one every few years if you look after it. Children, teenagers, and those undergoing orthodontics have changing jaw shapes and teeth positions, and so may only get a few months of use before a new one is required.

There are now reasonably good sports-guards that can be bought over the counter, however we would usually recommend a custom-made guard where possible. Speak to your dentist if you are unsure.
