The whitening gels work by releasing oxygen, which breaks down stains in your teeth.

You will use a custom-made tray filled with the gel. This tray is designed to fit comfortably over your teeth, ensuring the whitening gel is applied evenly and effectively. Professional teeth whitening can help lift stains caused by food, drink, and lifestyle habits, leaving your smile looking brighter and more refreshed.

Do not use if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or allergic to any ingredients.

Stop treatment if you experience serious discomfort or an allergic reaction.

It is unadvised to have this treatment if you currently have gum disease(periodontitis) or dental decay.

All cosmetic dental treatments are offered subject to a consultation. For a patient to receive elective cosmetic dental treatment, they are required to have stable oral health. The good news is that if you require a pre-cosmetic phase of dental treatment to achieve dental health, we can arrange this for you and treat you in-house.

Your dentist will explain the total cost, including any other treatments you may need (such as replacing old fillings or crowns if they don’t match your newly whitened teeth).

You may feel some sensitivity or discomfort during treatment—this is common and usually lasts 1–3 days.

People with existing sensitivity, gum recession, cracks, or worn-down teeth may feel this more.

Unfortunately, this inherently unpredictable.

Helpful tip: Use a sensitivity toothpaste such as Sensodyne (SLS-free) before or during treatment to reduce discomfort.

Whitening gel does notchange the colour of crowns, veneers, fillings, or dentures.

If your front teeth have white fillings, these may look darker after whitening and might need to be replaced.

Stained or spotted teeth (e.g. from antibiotics or fluorosis) may not whiten evenly and take longer.

Whitening gel may irritate soft tissues if it touches your gums, lips, or cheeks.

This is usually mild and temporary but can be uncomfortable.

Whitening is not safe if you have open cavities or broken fillings, as the gel could enter the tooth and cause pain.

These issues should be fixed before starting treatment.

Areas where the gum has receded (exposing the root) may be more sensitive and will not whiten.

The enamel nearest the gum may not whiten fully & will be the last part to go white.

Teeth will whiten at different rates.

You may experience blotchiness initially and any white spots will go very white, quickly. These will fade back approximately a week after completion.

If you grind your teeth, the process may not work as well as the gel is expelled from the trays during use owing to biting pressure.

Whitening is not permanent. Your teeth may slowly darken over time—especially with smoking, tea, coffee, red wine, or curry.

We advise to top up your whitening every 2-3 nights, every 2-3 monthsusing your trays.

Always have a dental check-up before doing any top-up treatments and if you wish to purchase extra gels at a later date.

We recommend you stop smoking before and during whitening, as it can quickly undo your results.

Keep your whitening trays safe. You’ll need them for future top-ups & they must be checked before extra whitening gels can be issued in the future.

Whitening results vary from person to person. Your dentist will explain what’s realistic for your teeth.
